Guide state and national actions that affect economic development in the region and adopt joint actions among member governments that enhance the regional economy.

Water Resources Committee

The Water Resources Committee identifies and coordinates collaborative efforts on regional issues of water quality and supply in South Central Kansas. Newton Mayor Willis Heck serves as the Water Resources Committee Chair.

Membership on the REAP Water Resources Committee is open to any city or county in South Central Kansas as defined by a region to include Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, McPherson, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner counties, regardless of REAP membership.  REAP may also extend membership to specific units of government outside of the above defined region on approval of a two-thirds vote of members present and voting at any REAP meeting.  To become a member of the REAP Water Resources Committee, each jurisdiciton must be in good standing in regards to payment of the REAP Water Resources annual assessment.

    Upcoming Conference
    KWEA & KsAWWA Joint Annual Conference

    The Kansas Water Environment Association and the Kansas Section of the American Water Works Association will hold their annual joint conference August 31 through September 2 at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Topeka, KS.  For more information please visit: http://www.kwea.net/Joint-Conference/.

    7th Annual KAFM Conference

     The 7th Annual Kansas Association of Floodplain Management Conference will be held September 1-2 at the Airport Hilton in Wichita, Kansas.  Conference topics will include: flood proofing, state fill permits, the National Flood Insurance Program, and levee maintenance.  The cost of registration is $150.00 and includes all meals and breaks.  More information can be found at http://www.ekafm.org/conferences.html.

    Water and the Future of Kansas Conference
